WHY CHOOSE THIS PROGRAM?

The first two years of college should be a time of growth and exploration for students both personally and academically. Starting out in Liberal Arts will allow you to find what you love and want to do with your education.

About the Program

Our Liberal Arts programs focus on areas such as communication, scientific inquiry, quantitative reasoning and ethical decision making. Classroom lectures focus on critical thinking, creative expression, and scientific reasoning. Students have the chance to select from a variety of courses to create a unique and personal academic pathway. The programs are taught on a more personal level than bigger colleges. They are taught in smaller groups by highly qualified instructors. The Associate of Arts and Associate of Science in Liberal Arts are transfer programs that provide students an opportunity to complete the first two years of studying leading to a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts.

Our Graduates

The Liberal Arts degree prepares students to transfer into four year universities where they can receive a Bachelor’s degree. We have articulation partners all across the state with four year institutions.

Transfer Partners

If you would like to continue your education after completing your Ivy Tech degree, we have several four-year transfer partnerships in place. Talk to your transfer advocate for more information about transfer opportunities!

Completion Guides

Completion guides provide the recommended path to graduation, broken out by 8-week term. Courses are also numbered to show an overall number for students taking fewer classes at a time. Please consult with your advisor to determine which classes are the best option for you to take.
