About the Program
Center for Cyber Security
Ivy Tech Community College created the Center for Cyber Security to meet the demands for high-quality cyber security education and training. Through our nationally recognized center, Ivy Tech students receive the education and training they need for jobs that secure our community, state and nation’s computers, networks and critical infrastructure.
The program will build the foundation to identify and fix computer security attacks. The material covered in the program is designed for students with advanced computer knowledge or currently working in the computer industry. Cyber Security is a degree that can be applied to many facets of the student’s life, from personal to work experiences. There is a growing need for stronger Cyber Security with the increasing media attention.

Free Courses
Ivy Tech offers two free, non-credit Cyber Security courses to prepare students for future classes they can take in this program.
Student Opportunities
Our Certificates, Technical Certificates, Associate of Science, and Associate of Applied Science cyber curriculum provides students with hands-on skills required for security infrastructures and devices. There are also chances for internships and externships to increase student competency in Cyber Security in real-world situations.
Students will also have the opportunities to:
- Obtain a National Security Agency and Department of Defense-recognized skill set and awareness of current issues
- Earn a Certificate or Technical Certificate in Cyber Security as a specialization, or for continuing education credits
- Earn an associate degree and continuing to 4 year colleges with articulation agreement

Our Graduates
Our graduates are able to find jobs within many different organizations. Through Career Development, we are able to assist our students in finding a job. Example positions include Network Security Support Technician, Security Auditor, and Digital Forensics Analyst.

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (312-263-0456).
Affiliates
In 2013, the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) designated Ivy Tech Community College a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-2Y).
The designation is based on the college meeting stringent academic criteria and distinguishing its strengths in Cyber Security education and training. We are also partnered with the National Science Foundation.
