Apprenticeship Technology - Building Trades
|
|
Registered Apprenticeship is an “earn and learn” model that combines on-the-job learning with related classroom instruction that increases an apprentice’s skill level and wages. It is a proven solution for businesses to recruit, train, and retain highly skilled workers.
Building Trades JATC Apprenticeship Programs
The Apprenticeship Technology programs are a working partnership between Ivy Tech Community College and individual Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committees (JATC) that are approved by the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), Office of Apprenticeship. After an applicant is accepted into the apprenticeship program by the JATC, the apprentice is then registered with the USDOL, and enrolled at Ivy Tech.
This joining together of higher education and the technical training expertise of the JATC provides the apprentice with an opportunity to enjoy the educational strengths of both the College and JATC. Upon completion of the general education and technical courses, they will then be awarded an USDOL, Office of Apprenticeship certificate and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from Ivy Tech.
