About the Program
The Dental Hygiene program features a state-of-the-art dental clinic that serves as the primary clinical education facility for the program. Our students treat a wide variety of patients from the community in the clinic. The Dental Hygiene program at Ivy Tech features small class sizes, which allow for more one-on-one interaction with faculty in the clinic that uses the most current technology for providing dental hygiene care.
This program begins in the fall semester each year and lasts for two years. It is a full-time, primarily daytime program, and students are in class, labs or clinic Monday - Friday for 16-26 hours per week. In addition, the Dental Hygiene program is a selective admission program. When you apply to the college, you would be accepted into the Healthcare Specialist program with a concentration in Dental Hygiene while you complete the prerequisite requirements. All applicants are required to take the TEAS exam. The Dental Hygiene program accepts a limited number of students each year and there is a separate application process.
Choose your campus of interest below for more information before testing. When you are ready to test, you may make your appointment at https://cass.ivytech.edu/selfserve/.
The dental hygiene program is accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation.
Students who are admitted to the program will be required to pay for and submit to a criminal background check, drug testing and physical exam. The details and process will be provided at an orientation. Please contact the program faculty for more detailed information.
Our Graduates
