  • Students will critically analyze and articulate the multidisciplinary perspectives of public safety and/or environmental health and safety.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to work with various inter- and multi-disciplinary organizations needed to better prevent and mitigate the impact of various actions/events upon a community, region, or state.
  • Students will become proficient in identifying and utilizing information and psychomotor skills in critical incidents and issues within public safety and/or environmental health and safety.
  • Apply effective interpersonal communication, critical thinking and decision-making skills commensurate with their defined level of responsibility within the workplace.
  • Demonstrate a solid foundation of knowledge and psychomotor skills within their assigned role in public safety and/or environmental health and safety.
  • Demonstrate safe practices and procedures by utilizing minimum standards of safety procedures compliant with modern industry standards.
  • The student will apply knowledge and skills that prepare them for future leadership positions within public safety and or environmental health and safety.
  • Articulate the key principles and context of issues in environmental health as well as issues surrounding safety in the workplace
  • The student will understand ethical and professional responsibilities and the impact of technical and/or scientific solutions in global, environmental, and workplace and community contexts.
  • Students will learn how to prevent harm to workers, property, the environment and the general public by identifying hazardous conditions and practices and implementing alternative practices and/or corrective measures.
  • Collect data on work environments for ongoing analysis that may predict risks and hazards and identify sources of exposure and/or contamination.
  • Identify current ethical issues in environmental health and safety.
