  • Outline the historical development, organization and function of the criminal justice system and juvenile justice system.
  • Analyze the influence of key historical developments on criminal law, emphasizing constitutional foundations and principles of substantive and procedural criminal law.
  • Examine how political and social contexts, along with various theoretical frameworks, shape the definitions of crime and influence the development and enforcement of laws with special emphasis on juvenile justice systems.
  • Evaluate current criminal justice decision-making methods, including crime measurement techniques and policies aimed at reducing crime and balancing punishment with rehabilitation.
  • Analyze the development of ethical standards in criminal justice and their influence on contemporary policies and decision-making.
  • Analyze the impact of diversity on the effectiveness of the criminal justice system.
