DEGREE OUTCOMES


  • 1. Evaluate ethical issues in dental practice with critical thinking and sound clinical judgement with professional collaboration.

    2. Apply a thorough foundation in the biomedical, clinical, and behavioral sciences to the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of dental hygiene treatment.

    3. Assess patient data of dental hygiene needs with critical decision-making skills.

    4. Formulate a comprehensive, patient-centered dental hygiene care plan in collaboration with the patient and other health professionals, based on current scientific evidence.

    5. Provide specialized preventive and therapeutic services to achieve and maintain oral health.

    6. Evaluate the effectiveness of clinical and educational services and modify them as necessary.

    7. Implement oral health promotion and disease prevention services in public health, private practice, and alternative settings.

    8. Implement professional leadership with assessment and planning programmatic activities that improve access to care, benefit the general population, and respond to opportunities that may influence the profession and the changing healthcare environment at local, state, and national levels.
