DEGREE OUTCOMES


  1. Demonstrate competency in clinical skills including vital signs measurement, venipuncture, specimen collection, EKG administration, injection techniques, tele-health and assisting with minor procedures with adherence to infection control protocols, patient safety guidelines, and professional standards of care.
  2. Demonstrate competency in administrative functions including patient scheduling, medical record management, insurance processing, coding, and billing, telephone etiquette, and compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations to ensure efficient office operations and quality patient care.
  3. Accurately calculate mathematical, medication dosages, vital sign measurements, converting between measurement systems, managing billing, and coding procedures, and analyzing healthcare data to ensure safe and efficient patient care with healthcare data. recommendations that promote patient wellness.
  4. Identify the structural hierarchy of organization of the human body.
  5. Identify the basic nutrition principles to patients on healthy dietary habits, nutritional guidelines, and the impact of nutrition on health conditions with provider-directed dietary recommendations that promote patient wellness.
  6. Recognize key theories of human behavior, cognitive development, and emotional well-being, with application of psychological concepts to patient interactions, stress management, and effective communication in a healthcare setting.
  7. Apply proficiency in basic English grammar and composition with clear, concise, and professional documents of therapeutic communication, including active listening, empathy, and appropriate verbal and nonverbal interactions, which foster meaningful and professional relationships in healthcare and other professional settings.
