Provides opportunities for practice in hands-on fabrication of welded products. Include basic equipment used in fabrication.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Describe equipment used in basic metal fabrication. [e,f]
- Use measuring equipment. [e,f]
- Prepare a bill of materials from a print chosen for the project. [e,f]
- Prepare a list of fabrication steps necessary to complete the project. [e,f]
- Layout the various tolerances, fits and allowances related to this project. [e, f]
- Layout the assigned project. [e,f]
- Fabricate the assigned project. [e,f]
- Perform visual inspection of the project. [e, f]
- A detailed drawing of the project with welding symbols. [e,f]
