This course will introduce students to advanced database administration concepts utilizing Oracle on-premises, hybrid, and cloud databases. The course covers advanced database architecture, performance tuning, high availability, security, disaster recovery, and Oracle-specific database services.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

  1. Configure and manage advanced features of Oracle on-premises, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure database.
  2. Optimize database performance using Oracle-specific tools and techniques.
  3. Implement high availability solutions.
  4. Configure security features, including Data Encryption and Virtual Private Databases (VPD).
  5. Implement backup and recovery strategies.
  6. Automate database administration tasks using scripting tools.
  7. Implement database auditing to ensure compliance with data regulations.
  8. Design and implement disaster recovery solutions.
  9. Manage data migration and integration between on-premises, hybrid, and cloud databases.
