Introduces the types of natural gas pipeline materials, joining techniques, coating maintenance, blowing gas scenarios, repair methods, and safety precautions.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

  1. Understand the tubing specifications, materials and fittings. [a, e, g, i]
  2. Procedures used in bending, cutting, and installing tubing. [a, e, f, g, i]
  3. Understand the basics of tubing in a hydraulic system. [a, e, f, g, i]
  4. Identify and understand the factors of tubing and hoses differ from piping. [a, e, f, g, i]
  5. Understand how piping is sized, fitted, bent, and joined. [a, e, f, g, i]
  6. Repair methods used on specific material types used in pipe joining [a, d, e, g, i]
