This applied service course is designed to enhance a student’s hands-on skills to diagnose and repair vehicle concerns across a variety of areas. Emphasis will be placed on Braking Systems, Steering and Suspension Systems, Climate Control Systems, and Automatic Transmissions.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Demonstrate proper shop safety practices while in the labs.
- Utilize on-line automotive information systems.
- Utilize technical service bulletins (TSB) for problem solving.
- Diagnose and repair braking systems and related components including ABS.
- Check and/or perform 2/4-wheel alignments.
- Diagnose and repair suspension system concerns.
- Perform tire and wheel service/repair.
- Perform heating air conditioning service/repair.
- Perform automatic transmission service/repair.
- Perform manual transmission service/repair.
