Continuation of PSYC-101. Addresses advanced topics regarding the methods, data, and theoretical interpretations in the areas of learning, sensory psychology, and psychophysiology. Presents specific theoretical issues, research methods, and findings in the areas of developmental, social, personality, and abnormal psychology.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of theoretical perspectives of psychology.
- Understand the major advantages and disadvantages of different experimental designs and quantitative analyses.
- Exhibit a fundamental understanding of neural science, brain anatomy, and psychophysiology.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge in regard to learning and memory theories.
- Be familiar with special issues in social, personality, and abnormal psychology.
- Exhibit an advanced understanding of human sensation, perception, and cognition.
