Further examines the virtual world of 3D and how it can be applied as an illustration and animation element in multimedia. Students will expand on navigation, modeling, rendering, animation, and camera and lighting techniques.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

  1. Apply the ability to employ available 3D rendering and animation software packages.
  2. Construct and render 3D models and textures for use in static and dynamic simulated environments.
  3. Further use of student constructed environments and models in various animations techniques in substantial presentation.
  4. Employ beginning application of character animation to objects.


COURSE CONTENT: Topical areas of study include -  

  • Build 3D models, shapes, and objects for presentation.
  • Develop appropriate lighting for presentation.
  • Discuss and apply various rendering techniques.
  • Demonstrates the creation of surface libraries and applies created surfaces to objects.
  • Discuss and apply appropriate output for presentations (Video, Web, CD-ROM).
