This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the convention/meeting management industry including the roles of various service providers, space requirements, and uses of convention facilities.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Identify aspects of convention/meeting management.
- Analyze the growth and coinciding changes that this industry has experienced and project trends for the industry.
- Construct a basic framework for planning a meeting, convention, or exposition.
- Demonstrate the skills necessary for interacting with various service providers involved in the industry.
- Compare and contrast types of convention facilities.
- Construct a space utilization plan.
