An in-depth study of various influences on office functions providing a background for organization and management of a physician’s office. Includes government and professional sources for consultation.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Exercise efficient time management.
- Describe methods used to manage personnel including hiring, firing, orientation, evaluations, and work schedules.
- Maintain employee/employer benefits records.
- Evaluate office procedures.
- Develop an office policy manual.
- Develop patient information tools regarding office policy.
- Demonstrate an understanding of legal responsibilities in a medical office.
- Demonstrate an understanding of management styles.
- Describe means to monitor legislation applicable to the profession.
